The Division of HIV and STD Programs (DHSP) and the Los Angeles County PrEP Workgroup is hosting an upcoming training entitled, “Los Angeles County HIV Biomedical Summit” on January 13, 2014 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Almansor Court in Alhambra, CA. Summit participants will: 1) gain knowledge about biomedical strategies for HIV prevention including Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and Treatment as Prevention, 2) learn about best practices for delivering biomedical interventions through collaborations between community-based agencies and healthcare organizations, and 3) discuss the emerging role of the prevention workforce in supporting client uptake of biomedical interventions.
HIV prevention program administrators (e.g., coordinators, managers, directors) and staff (e.g., HIV test counselors, health educators, counselors) are all encouraged to attend.
