In a recent issue of the UCLA Health Magazine Vital Signs, CBAM physician Joy Hao, MD, PhD was quoted in an article entitled “New Guidelines Aim to Curb Overuse of Narcotic.” In the article, Dr. Hao explains why the overuse of certain prescription drugs is a major problem because of their potentially addictive qualities. She also discusses her recommendations for how physicians can approach prescribing these medications to help protect patients from unintended harm.
